About me

I graduated from Padjaran University in August 2016 with a bachelor of applied mathematics. You might be wondering, how did I pursue my career in programming journey. You will find out as you are reading.

After graduation, I immediately went to Kampung Inggris (English Village) located in Kediri, East Java, to improve my English Skill. At that time, I knew that English skill is pretty much important to learn about programming especially since this can help to explore easier the new trend and technology around the world. It took almost 4 years for me to truly be able to speak, write, read, and listen confidently in English. These are the moments of journey of learning about English before I began learning about programming:

  • August 2016 - October: Study Basic English.
  • November 2016 - February 2017: Study IELTS (Advance Skill).
  • March 2017: Taking IELTS Real Exam from British Council (Got Band 6 Overall).
  • April 2017: Got the opportunity to teach English in one of the biggest course company in Kampung Inggris.
  • October 2017: I became an IELTS Instructor that helps over thousand members to get at least band 6 in IELTS Exam.
Those experience has helped me sharpen my skill in English skill and finally in April 2020, I began my journey in programming.

I began my programming journey by taking course 'Introduction to web development' from CS50 Harvard. During this course, I learn about the fundamental of how the web works ranging from http request, client and server side, security, network, and web development using Django python and Javascript.

After the course, I made my first porfolio about food e-commerce using Django. At that time, I am also curious on how I deploy this project so that everyone can access the website globally. After 3 days of learning and testing, I finally deployed my very first project in digitalocean cloud VPS (Virtual Private Server). These are the technologies that I used at that time:

  • Nginx - for server management
  • Gunicorn - for background process that manage serving the project automatically and permanently
  • SSL - for ssl security for domain (I bought the domain from Namecheap)
  • Postgresql - for database

The next month, I apply for a scholarship from government for a course in web development, and I fortunately I got that scholarship and complete the 3 certificate
